Which Areas to Avoid?
Prague belongs to one of the safest cities in the world. If you follow some basic safety rules and are aware of pick-pocketing, you should be fine anywhere. There are no real dangerous neighborhoods in Prague.
Areas, where you should be a little bit more aware:
1) Vrchlického sady – park in front of the Main Train Station
This area is infamous because of many homeless and drunk people, it is advised to avoid this park during the night. It’s completely safe during the day, though.
2) Smíchov
Industrial and not a very beautiful district. It’s not advised to walk there in the night, especially around the train station.
2) Černý Most
Černý Most is a neighborhood in the northeast part of Prague, where the largest community of gypsies live. The area is far from the city center, therefore you have no reason to get there.
